Lightweight happy to be back in SJ.
John's party was a fucking reunion. I loved seeing everyone again, loved being back with everyone, & I do miss everyone that was there. Wish I coulda drank more to get on a level, but I was driving.. Idk, it was just a really good, positive feeling just being back. I think this was the best way to start Winter Break.
One thing kind of irritated me. Me.. Have I changed? I don't think so. I think hella people have, but I'm the same. I don't want to say anything more.. But thanks to everyone who still hits me up everytime I'm around without me having to do it myself. Y'all the ones that matter most.
Other than that, feels good to be home. (:
& The season finale to "Glee" was epic. I can't wait 'til Spring to see what's next. Yes, guilty pleasure, but it's definitely the only good thing to watch on TV off of SpikeTV, I said it.

HASTA NEVER AGAIN, FALL QUARTER!
You were such a quick ass quarter, but you tested me & brought me to the limit.
The only thing I'm gonna miss about Fall Quarter will be Friendship Games.
Next quarter, I'm gonna readjust my priorities:
1. ACADEMICS. Must 4.0 Winter Quarter, or get Straight A's like the past 2 years.
2. e² / BoD. We have a lot of hurdles to overcome with the budget cuts, & I must get on this.
3. Delta Sigma Pi. Another quarter closer to getting our letters. How fucking exciting.
4. FSA. Fundraisers, Service, & Sportsfest? Who's down for Sportsfest, 'cuhs I MOST DEFINITELY AM.
What I can't wait for is the post-Finals party for Winter Quarter, tho. HAHA.

IT'S SNOWED THIS WEEK!
My mom said the 17 was glittering in snow that she thought it was "beautiful." My friends in Bonny Doon woke up & opened the window only to see snow falling gently from the sky.. & I hear the mountaintops in San Jose are all engulfed in snow. How fucking exciting! It even snowed in Stockton & parts of SF. That's insane. Snowing in the Bay Area? Sounds like the only good thing to come out of Global Warming! Could you imagine? We'd all be unprepared.

Babette's Feast is a movie about this lady who wants to make a meal for these people who sheltered her for awhile, but these people can't show satisfaction with food.. Or something like that. But Chris & I were watching the feast scene at Jack's Lounge, & it looks HELLA good. The food included: "Potage à la Tortue" (turtle soup), "Blini Demidoff au Caviar" (buckwheat cakes with caviar & sour cream), "Caille en Sarcophage avec Sauce Perigourdine" (quail in puff pastry shell with foie gras & truffle sauce), "La Salad" f/ Belgian endive & walnuts in a vinaigrette, & "Les Fromages" f/ Blue Cheese, papaya, figs, grapes and pineapple. The grand finale dessert was a "Savarin au Rhum avec des Figues et Fruit Glacée" (rum sponge cake with figs and glacéed fruits). Served with rare wines including Clos de Vougeot. Sounds like the most legit of French dinners.
Better than Olivia's clafouni. JK.

Hmmmmmm..
So much for Sober Week? Tell me why me, Crystal, Gee, Hersh, Hubert, & Chris said we wouldn't drink this week, yet we all ended up drinking tonight for Crystal's birthday? Are we insane? Finals are in three days!
Anyway, I was really upset when I went to the SOCC (Student of Color Collective) Budget Forum today. I was super pissed at the lack of Filipino faces that showed up. The Filipino Student Association is the largest ethnic organization on campus & we can't contribute to the solidarity? Hella Latino/Chicano, APISA, & Black/African American students showed up, but I was one of 3 faces to represent the Filipino community? That's complete bullshit. We all have the same struggles, so give in to the cause, piece of shit FSA. O:<
Yeah, I said it. FSA is a worthless contribution to the overall causes & needs of the political things that really matter. They're too consumed in the social crap & parties it's been known for. Regina was right. That's why I'm quitting FSA after I'm done with my position & staying with e² 'cuhs they actually give a shit about what happens.

(NOTE THIS WILL BE A RECAP OF MY WEEK AS I REALLY DUNNO WHAT TO WRITE BUT I WANNA WRITE IT CAUSE IT WAS SO AWESOME)
I have to say that it's been such a good week. Mainly because I had Hong sleep over for the week instead of our usual schedule of:
- Monday Night @ 10:30PM call me on the phone
- Tuesday Night @ 10:30PM call me on the phone
- Wednesday Night, sleep over
- Thursday Night @ 10:30PM call me on the phone
- Friday Night, sleep over
- Saturday Night, sleep over
- Sunday Night, leave at 10:30PM
It was really nice to have him around and spend more time with him as sooner or later he's going to leave me for Med School :( I'm not needy I swear, but it's hard to adjust when the last two years of college I practically saw him all the time. Don't get me wrong though, I do enjoy the time I have to myself so I've been trying really hard to preoccupy my time with either hanging out with people or errands. Especially since I've enrolled myself in Insurance Education classes and got a new gym membership, I'll be quite busy with myself.
Anyways, Thursday night we walked over the bar by my apartment, Peabody's where I got their special of the night and he got Snake Bites. The special was a martini. I GOT SO DRUNK SO FAST. I am such a freaking light weight now a days it's ridiculous.
Friday was AWESOME. He finally got off his lazy ass to go out with me downtown. PROGRESS. YES. So we went to Voyeur to see Cosmic Gate. Dude, they were so good! Saw my Pseudo Edwin and drove him back to his place in my two seater. Hilarious.
Saturday we saw NINJA ASSASSIN. Honestly, I only wanted to see it because there was action packed Ninja goodness. AND IT WAS GOOD. Storyline was odd but the action was GOOD.
SUNDAY WAS DISNEYLAND! I think cause I went with my pledge sister who is fucking IN LOVE with it, it made my experience ten times better. :)

Not the best Thanksgiving.
Not the best Black Friday.
But, I do what to throw out some thanks. (:
What am I thankful for this Thanksgiving?
My best friend, Eidref Laxa; Because we've been best friends for a long while now.. 3-4 years, I'm guessing? But even though we don't kick it as much as we should, this fool's still there to help me out with the problems I have, be there for every shot I might want, & just there period. Thanks for still being there at the beginning of the year, when it felt like I lost everyone & everything. Thanks for missing my birthday, only to make up for it with something even better. & I'm thankful that my best friend is not one of those delinquants who are going to get sidetracked during college. Thanks for making me proud, bro. Much love.
The three that come close, Michelle, Jenn, & Miggy. It's amazing how we're not even in the same city anymore, yet everytime you come back, it feels like nothing's even been different. Michelle & Jenn, we have been together for so much, for so long, that I'm really thankful you're both only a phonecall away for the most simplest of a smallchat to the venting of the biggest issues in our lives. I love you both, hella much, & I can't wait to see what 2010 gots in store for us. Miggy, there's a lot of tension that came at the beginning of the year that turned into such unwanted bad air for the rest of the year, & it felt like a good riddance to see you leave.. But you know what? It wasn't. That empty void that someone's missing has really impacted me. Your friendship was a rollercoaster that's always on loop, but you know what? Fuck it. I'm thankful for such a crazy ride, bro. I guess that's why we're friends. Because it's always unpredicatable.
My boys, Marc & Thang. Where would I be without your balance? I'm thankful that two of the best bros out there who are down to show me a good time are still around to do so. From the start with the dranks, to the end with the snow, it's fucking crazy. You two are the perfect balance in my hectic life to go off track for a quick bit to loosen up & have fun. But at the same time, y'all there for me for support, there to have my back when I get myself in deep shit, & still willing to make the trip out to SC when I really need you guys. I'm thankful for two of the most understanding niggas I kid like me could ask for. Homeboys for life.

Y'all still fresh, & I'm thankful I found you ladies to help shape into strong women during the course of this year. Y'all divas, but I'm thankful for that, too. Thanks to my family. Of course, you'd be on this list. But thanks for stickin' it through this year, especially when finding out about everything from my recreational use of alcohol to the packs you find every once in awhile to the inks on my skin, thanks for being supportive of the decisions of made on my life. Thanks for regaining my trust from the incidents of last year, & accepting the fact that I'm growing more independant. I'm thankful for such young, such caring parents that are there to support me in the times I need them, through financial support & emotional backbone. Here's what I learned today from the e² Board of Directors Meeting that I feel everyone should know.
Did you know that:
- 1 of 3 California students attends an overcrowded school.
- 56% of students with dependent family incomes of $70K or greater earned a BA degree within 6 years whereas only 26% of students with dependant family incomes of $25K or less earned a BA.
- The CA high school dropout rate by race is:
American Indian - 31.3%
Asian (vague) - 10.2%
Pacific Islander - 27.9%
Filipino - 11.9%
Hispanic/Latino - 30.3%
African American - 41.6%
- In 1991, CA's spent $15,860 per UC student. Today they spend $9,560.
- California's budget allocates ~$49,000 each year to incarcerate ONE prisoner. The state spends $10 billion each year on prisons.
- TODAY, California's budget allocates $10 billion to prsions & ~$3 billion to the UC system.
- In the past 25 years, California built 1 research university & 24 prisons.
- 2009-2010, UC's curtailed enrollment by 2300 students.

- In 2002, the median income of a UCSC frosh was ~$80,600. In 2008, there was a 77% increase to ~$104,067, making UCSC one of the most expensive universities.
- In 2008, the UCSC undergrad population was:

Chicano: 12.4%
Latino: 4.8%
Filipino: 3.8%
African American: 2.6%
- It is claimed that the percentages are improving... But in reality:

Thank You, Mark Yudof & the UC Regents for making higher education inaccessible to underrepresented communities like mine, of similar backgrounds & socioeconomic disadvantages. You have turned a public institution into a capitalist system. Stop privatizing our education. I don't pay my fees for your luxury, so stop silencing the student voice!
Damn, I'm very passionate about the fight for higher education in California. Today, the UC Regents have voted to pass on the 32% Student Fee Hike to the official round of voting tomorrow, which we know is going to swing what way. There are many protesters in UCLA right now protesting the fee hike for it's demands on students like me. The students most vocal about the issue are all people of color. How do the UC Regents expect me, people like me, & people more disadvantaged than me to pay for a college education? This 32% Fee Hike will make tuition reach an average $10,500, & without affirmative action in California, we can say goodbye to diversity in higher education!
How dare the UC Regents reopen the MLK Hospital & shut down our request to vote against the fees? They're opening all sources of capital income & just getting more money for their buck. It's such bullshit. I know that the problem lies in Sacramento, but this is proof of the UC Regent's opposition to listen to the masses of students who deserve an education but can't afford one.
We need to educate everyone in higher education about the problems this causes us. The UC's are going to begin accepting more out of state students because they could afford our tuition, while the rest of us socioeconomically disadvantaged students have to forever live in debt to receive an education. Tomorrow will be the death of the student voice.
SO FUCK THE REGENTS.

I'm at CLICS which is a library at UCSD that gets fucking packed around finals. I don't know why the fuck I decided to come here during finals. But I have to study for a quiz I have to take for a class I'm taking for work. Introduction to Workers' Compensation hahaha. God, getting back in the habit of reading, taking notes and then taking a quiz is a bitch. I have class tomorrow and luckily it's only one hour and not three like it says in the class schedule! SO HAPPY.
Anyways, being makes me remember why I NEVER went to this particularly library during finals week. I fucking hate fobby Koreans. Why the fuck do the find it necessary to go to the library and play fucking Farmville and shit. Then they seem to fucking go in groups and chat nonstop in fucking Korean. THEY'RE LOUD. ITS A FUCKING LIBRARY FUCKTARDS. FUCK. FUCKING KOREANS. The bitchass next to me is playing some stupid game. WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE FOR THEN!
